THE man behind Barangay Ginebra's never-say-die mystique is expected to be at ringside of the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday night when the franchise tries to end an eight-year PBA championship drought.
Dodot Jaworski, a former Ginebra player himself, dropped strong hints of his father's rare appearance in a tweet posted on his account @dodotjaworski, 'Guess who ia coming to watch tonight's #PBAFinals Live!!!'
The eldest son of the legendary Robert Jaworski Sr. then gave out a number of clues that obviously points to the former Ginebra playing-coach who epitomized the team's long-established battlecry of Never Say Die, putting in the hashtags #7barangayginebra and #livinglegend.'
The Kings lead 3-2 in theeir best-of-seven finals against the Meralco Bolts, and need just one more victory to clinch the team's first championship since the 2008 Fiesta Cup.
The presence of the father of Ginebra will definitely be a big boost to the franchise.
Relli de Leon, the longtime friend and trusted liuetenant of Jaworski, 70, would not confirm yet if the Big J is watching the game.
"He has a foreign business partner in Mla now. He will try to move a prior appointment to be there," he said when reached by SPIN.ph over the phone.
