PBA legend Robert Jaworski was among the first to congratulate Barangay Ginebra after his former team booked a place in the PBA Philippine Cup Finals on Tuesday night.

He was also the first to jolt the Gin Kings back to reality.

The iconic figure behind Ginebra's rise as a never-say-die team entered the dugout after the 89-76 Game Seven win over Star, congratulating half-naked men amid joyous scenes at the Mall of Asia Arena before dropping one important reminder.

“Congratulations but you haven’t achieved anything yet,” Jaworski said, reminding the team that it’s not yet the time to celebrate with the best-of-seven finals against top seed and clear favorite San Miguel starting in three days' time.

“You got to work hard and prepare,” he told the team. “Think of your opponent and analyze whatever you’re lacking and focus on that and look at their strong points and work against that.”

Jaworski also reminded the team that they should not be happy after reaching the finals for the second straight conference, saying its 'just a step closer (to the goal) but there’s so many step ahead you have to do.”

Turning to sportswriters inside the room, Jaworski said the finals will be tough to call.

“It’s a toss, the team that wants it will make it,” he said. “Both have talents in different positions and they could really sort of capitalize on that.”
