JAVI Gomez De Liano formalized his return to the PBA on Saturday.
The 27-year-old wingman signed a three-year deal with new team Magnolia Hotshots as he tries to reboot his career in Asia’s pioneering pro league after a one-year absence.
No less than four-time MVP and current Magnolia team manager Alvin Patrimonio welcomed to the franchise the former University of the Philippines star, who is represented by Marvin Espiritu of the Espiritu Manotoc Basketball Management.
De Liano was acquired by the Hotshots in a trade with Terrafirma last week for shooting guard Jerrick Ahanmisi.

The 6-foot-3 guard-forward just came off a season’s stint with the Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters in the Korean Basketball League.
His KBL sojourn came after he failed to come to terms with the contract extension offered to him previously by Terrafirma.
De Liano suited up for the Dyip franchise from 2022-24 and was an integral part of the core that reached the playoffs of the 2023-24 Philippine Cup.
Originally picked by Barangay Ginebra in the 2022 draft at no.8 overall, he didn’t get to wear the popular ballclubs’ jersey after he was trade a few days after the draft to Terrafirma along with Brian Enriquez for no.2 overall pick Jeremiah Gray.
His younger brother Juan Gomez De Liano has also entered the coming Season 50 draft.
