FOR Javee Mocon, it would be a dream come true if he goes to Meralco in the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft and be handled by someone in the caliber of coach Norman Black.
"I really like TNT, especially nung nagko-coach pa si Norman Black and now na Meralco na siya. Hopefully," he said.
Fortunately for the San Beda forward, that possibility is in play with the Bolts owning the fifth pick in this year's annual draft selection process.
His chances of making that dream into fruition is also big considering that Meralco is on the lookout to boost its frontline, with Mocon proving himself capable of playing the three and four spots in his decorated run with the Red Lions.
However, the 23-year-old knows better not to count the chickens before the eggs hatch, and he's just giddy about where the next chapter of his basketball career will be.
"Sobrang excited ako. Actually, nakakatakot din kasi hindi mo alam kung saang team ka mapupunta or fit ka ba sa system nila. Pero nonetheless, lahat naman ng humps sa buhay ko napagdaanan ko na and I think madali naman akong makaka-adjust," he said.
One thing's for sure: Mocon has already done everything in his power to show he's ready for the big leagues, with the latest him taking home the NCAA Season 94 Finals MVP plum.
"I think napakita ko na naman yung abilities ko tsaka yung kaya ko ibigay sa table," he said. "Hopefully, sana makuha nila ako."
