PHOENIX is now truly Jason Perkins' team.
The Fil-Am forward renewed his ties with the Fuel Masters, agreeing to a new three-year, maximum contract.
Phoenix confirms max deal
Team manager Paolo Bugia confirmed the contract signing as Perkins' previous deal expired last October.
The 31-year-old product of La Salle was picked No. 4 overall by Phoenix in the 2017 rookie draft.
By the end of the season, he was adjudged as Rookie of the Year.
Perkins is the only remaining member of Phoenix's so-called Big 3 which he formed with Matthew Wright and Calvin Abueva a few years back. And his new three-year deal with the team only affirmed he's now the go-to-guy of the Fuel Masters.
Perkins, who admitted losing over 20 pounds heading to PBA Season 48, has been one of the major reasons for the Fuel Masters' surprise resurgence in the Commissioner's Cup where it just clinched a berth in the quarterfinals with their second running 6-1 record.
