A familiar name is set to reinforce Phoenix in the coming PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Jarrid Famous has been tapped by the Fuel Masters to help them in their campaign in the mid-season conference that kicks off on March 17.
The 6-foot-9 product of South Florida had a memorable stint with Globalport during the 2015 edition of the Governors Cup, where he averaged monster numbers of 30.2 points and 23.0 rebounds in nine games with the team.
He highlighted the stint with a 30-point, 37-rebound output in a 102-94 beating of Kia. Famous’ total rebounds were the highest registered in the league in the last 30 years since the legendary Michael Hackett grabbed 38 for Ginebra in 1985.
Famous steered Globalport to the quarterfinals, but they lost to the Star Hotshots despite holding a twice-to-beat advantage in the playoffs.
The 28-year-old native of Bronx, New York was also in the radar of Blackwater, which was beaten to the draw by Phoenix.
Previously, Famous also had stints in the league with Petron and Meralco.
