New import CJ Aiken suits up for KIA while Jarrid Famous returns this time for Blackwater.

ONE familiar face and the other a fresh one will be reinforcing Blackwater and KIA Picanto’s respective campaigns in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Jarrid Famous, a monster in scoring and rebounding in his last tour of duty in the league, makes his long-awaited comeback as he’ll be donning the Blackwater uniform this time, while KIA opted to tap a new import in CJ Aiken, a 6-foot-9 product of Saint Joseph University.

The 29-year-old Famous is coming fresh from a stint in the Argentine league and will be arriving here on April 9, according to team insiders.

Famous previously played with Meralco and GlobalPort, where he averaged eye-popping numbers of 30.2 points and 23 rebounds during the 2015 Commissioner’s Cup.

In a 102-94 win over KIA, Famous registered a total of 37 rebounds, the highest output in the league in the last 30 years or so and just eight boards shy of the all-time record owned by former Ginebra import Michael Hackett.

Aiken, meanwhile. is flying over by Saturday, according to KIA representative to the league board Bobby Rosales.

“He’ll be fun to watch and at the same time, we know he’s capable to match up with the imports of the other teams,” said Rosales.

During his stint with Saint Joseph, the 27-year-old Aiken was one of the top shot-blockers in U.S. NCAA and earned Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2011-12.

Unfortunately, he went undrafted in the NBA.

He previously saw action in the NBA G-League, played in Poland, and is coming off a stint in the National Basketball League (NBL) of Canada.

Famous and Aiken are the latest imports to be named seeing action in the mid-season conference after Vernon Macklin (Magnolia), Justine Brownlee (Barangay Ginebra), Arinze Onuaku (Meralco), James White (Phoenix), and Arnett Moultrie (NLEX).

San Miguel is bringing back Best Import Charles Rhodes, but is looking for a possible back up as his schedule in the Korean Basketball League where he is currently playing would overlap the early part of the import-laden meet.
