CLARK FREEPORT – Everybody’s on board for Barangay Ginebra as Japeth Aguilar arrived in the PBA bubble on Thursday.
The 6-foot-9 center finally completed the roster of the Kings in time for the restart of the Philippine Cup on Sunday at the Angeles University Foundation.
Aguilar, from Sasmuan, Pampanga, will undergo a two-day, room isolation. Once the result of his swab test comes out negative, the 33-year-old big man will be ready for the team’s season debut against the NLEX Road Warriors on opening day.
"He is still under room quarantine for the next couple of days, so we're waiting for him to join practice," said Ginebra coach Tim Cone.
The Finals MVP of the 2019 Governors Cup arrived just a day after another key player in LA Tenorio entered the bubble, less than two weeks after undergoing laparoscopic surgery to remove his appendix.
Like Aguilar, Tenorio is currently undergoing quarantine in his room at Quest Hotel.
Unlike Aguilar, though, the Ginebra point guard remains uncertain of suiting up against the Road Warriors as he has yet to get a clearance from his doctor if he could already play competitively.
