ENIGMATIC Talk ‘N Text big man Japeth Aguilar has nowhere to go but back to the Philippines, two months after his failed attempt to land a spot in the NBA or in its farm league, the NBA Developmental League.
Relaying his message through Philippine-based agent Marvin Espiritu, Aguilar said he is currently in Dallas, Texas to seek the counsel of their family pastor before returning home to resume his career in the PBA.
Aguilar will most likely find himself suiting up for a new team upon his return amid reports that that he is among the central figures in a multi-player deal being put together by six teams on the sidelines of the PBA board's planning session in Singapore.
Unconfirmed reports said the complex deal will have Aguilar finding a new home at crowd favorite Ginebra.
But regardless of the outcome of the negotiations, Espiritu said Aguilar has made up his mind to come home for good. The former Ateneo player had previously said that he will only return to the country after his wish to be traded by Talk 'N Text is granted.
“Alam na naman ni Japeth na wala na rin siyang mapupuntahan kundi dito lang," Espiritu said. "Kaya kung wala naman daw mangyayari sa board meeting, mapipilitan na rin daw siyang bumalik na lang.”
