BOCAUE – Japeth Aguilar typified Barangay Ginebra’s failure to control the boards against Meralco that factored in their 98-91 loss in Game Six on Wednesday night.

The 6-foot-9 slotman grabbed just six of the towering Gin Kings’ 41 rebounds – 10 less than the shorter Bolts hauled down, as the PBA Governors Cup Finals went down to a deciding game.

Aguilar was at a loss to explain the underwhelming performance.

“Every time bumababa yung score ng six or four points, ‘di kami makakuha ng key stop, more of rebounds,” Aguilar said.

“Actually, di ko nga alam ba’t kami gulat na gulat sa ginagawa nila,” he added. “Na-cover naman namin yun nung Game Five. Siguro we weren't sure of what we want to do.”

And Aguilar was honest enough to admit he’s far from satisfied with his individual showing.

“Ummm no, but I'll be ready for Friday,” Aguilar said.

“Ano lang, basta gawin ko lang makakakaya ko, ‘di naman ano sa scoring or sa something basta anything just to get my teammates going,” he added.

“Kanina, nakita ko wala kaming rhythm sa offense because we were not shooting the ball well, ayun. I'm sure ipi-pinpoint ni coach Tim yun.”
