JAPETH Aguilar is playing hurt, but his father Peter said his son would rather play through it than miss games including in the home stretch of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The elder Aguilar revealed to SPIN.ph that his son has not been 100 percent healthy, although he didn’t go into specifics as to his condition.

“Meron siyang mga dinaramdam sa katawan kaya ganun siya,” said Peter during an episode of SPIN POV on Tuesday.

Aguilar has been on and off during the conference and is averaging 5.5 points and four rebounds during the Commissioner’s Cup Finals against Bay Area. His best game of the conference came in Game Four of the semifinals where he chipped in 19 points and eight rebounds against Magnolia.
Peter said he is aware that the uncharacteristically inconsistent play of his son has been noticed by the team’s supporters. But the elder Aguilar said he has been constantly speaking to his son about it.
“Nag-uusap kami parati.
