JAPETH Aguilar revealed a little secret he has had since his childhood days.
Aguilar admitted he was a big Danny Seigle fan growing up and wanted to approach the veteran forward on Sunday at the end of the PBA Governors Cup semifinal series between Ginebra and TnT Katropa.
Unfortunately, Aguilar never got the chance to ask a 'big favor' from his idol in the din of the Kings' celebration at the Smart Araneta Coliseum following the series-clinching 115-105 victory.
And so he took to Twitter later on.
The Ginebra big man messaged Seigle and humbly asked the 41-year-old Fil-Am if he could have one of his playing jerseys as a souvenir.
"Can I have one of your jerseys please? You are my childhood idol," Aguilar humbly tweeted through his account @japethaguilar35
"Forgot to ask you a while ago."
Seigle, one of the most electrifying players the league had ever seen, gladly obliged.
"Of course! Thank you & I'm flattered you asked," Seigle replied on his own account @dannyseigle42. "So nice to see you develop into one of the superstars of the PBA and Gilas. Good luck in the finals."
Like a kid who had gotten his first Christmas gift, Aguilar couldn't contain his emotions and disclosed how Seigle inspired him to become the player that he is today.
"Wow that's awesome!" said the Ginebra cager.
"I never really opened up to you about it, but since I was a kid, I'd try to copy your game. Thanks man," Aguilar ended his message.
Aguilar asking for a souvenir jersey from his idol further bolstered talks Seigle might finally retire at the end of the season.
