LUCENA - When Jammer Jamito pulled Ginebra teammate Japeth Aguilar up from his seat in the sidelines during the second round of the PBA Slam Dunk contest on Friday, fans moved to the edge of their seats, expecting a highlight-reel dunk.
To their surprise, Jamito, instead of jumping over Aguilar, sidestepped past his 6-foot-9 teammate before throwing down an oh-so-ordinary one-handed jam.
The stunt got a measly 37 points from the five judges - but a 10 on the laugh meter.

Jamito, a Ginebra rookie who has seen little action this season, later admitted he was not much of a high-flyer despite his 'Jammer' nickname - the reason he decided to sprinkle a dose of humor to his act.
"Kasi lahat sila tinatalunan mga players," Jamito said laughing. "Yun talaga balak ko gawin kasi hindi naman talaga ako high-flyer. Gusto ko lang mapasaya mga tao."
Although he failed to advance to the final round, Jamito said he just made the most of this rare opportunity to join the All-Star festivities.
At best, he will be remembered for pulling off the best Euro step in slam-dunk history.

He doesn't mind.
"Ine-enjoy ko lang yung opportunity na makasali sa slam dunk," he said.
He nonetheless vowed to do better if given the chance again.
