JAMMER Jamito understands where Jared Dillinger was coming from when he signed with Ginebra after being dropped to the free agent list.
After all, the 6-foot-5 center out of St. Clare was in the same position just a year ago after the Gin Kings won the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup.
"Syempre ganoon talaga ang buhay ng player," he said on Tuesday after the Bolts wrapped up their practice at Meralco Gym.
Jamito admitted that it will always be hard for any player to be placed in the free agent list, although he was still practicing with Ginebra when Meralco came calling.
"Noong una nalungkot ako, pero nung matagal na, nakasanayan ko na rin," said the third-year bruiser.
"Naisip ko nung pumirma ako, bagong adjust na naman sa mga bagong teammates at bagong team. Pero nung lumaon, naging ok din naman."
As hard of a decision was it for Jamito, he still saw it as a necessary career move as he tried to move out from the shadows of the Gin Kings twin towers of Greg Slaughter and Japeth Aguilar to bolster a Bolts squad lacking in height.
"Hinahanap ko rin kung saan ako magiging effective," the 28-year-old banger said, adding that he'll always treasure his time with Ginebra but holds no regrets for his decision to move to Meralco.
Jamito, however, noted that there's one glaring difference with his move to that of Dillinger's.
"Nagpaalam naman ako ng maayos sa Ginebra bago ako lumipat," he said.
