POTENTIAL top pick Jamie Malonzo has formalized his entry to the upcoming PBA Rookie Draft.

The one-and-done La Salle high-flyer is the latest name to submit his application on Thursday afternoon, upping the PBA rookie aspirants' list to 67.

Malonzo, who stands 6-foot-6, is touted to be one of the first names to be called in the March 14 proceedings, with some believing that he has what it takes to be the No. 1 selection.

The 24-year-old out of Portland State played one year with the Green Archers this past UAAP Season 82 and averaged 15.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals to rightfully be named in the Mythical Team.

Malonzo also played for Mighty Sports, being an integral part of the Philippine team's success in the 2020 Dubai International Basketball Tournament.

The athletic forward looked promising with Marinerong Pilipino, nabbing 23 points, 11 rebounds, six steals, and four assists in his lone game against ADG Dong-Mapua before the 2020 PBA D-League Aspirants' Cup was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Malonzo is seen to be in contention for the top selection, alongside fellow Fil-Am draft entrant Joshua Munzon.

Aside from Malonzo, other players who submitted their applications were Letran center Larry Muyang, Fil-foreign talents James Laput and David Murrell, and Ateneo product Jay Javelosa.

Muyang is a burly 6-foot-5 banger and the NCAA Season 94 Rookie of the Year whose brute strength was a key in the Knights' championship run this past NCAA Season 95. He averaged 12.7 points on 56-percent shooting, to go with 7.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist in that title campaign.

Meanwhile, Laput is a 6-foot-9 Fil-Aussie center from Young Harris College and played his lone season in La Salle back in UAAP Season 82. He only posted 2.6 points and 1.7 rebounds in eight minutes of action in just seven games before dealing with a life-threatening neck injury until he made his comeback through Big Boss Cement Porac MSC in the 2020 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 President's Cup.

Murrell is a 6-foot-4 forward from University of the Philippines who averaged 1.8 points and 1.9 rebounds in nine minutes for the Fighting Maroons last UAAP Season 82. He played shortly in the PBA D-League for Karate Kid-CEU in the truncated 2020 Aspirants' Cup.

Lastly, Javelosa was a former national youth team member and last saw action for the Iloilo United Royals in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL), averaging 3.1 points and 4.5 rebounds in 14.8 minutes this past Lakan Cup.
