BLACKWATER import Marqus Blakely took part in another jersey exchange on Wednesday, this time with Rain or Shine star James Yap.
The exchange of jerseys occurred right after the Elite lost to the Elastopainters, 99-82, in the game at the Cuneta Astrodome even though Yap was in street clothes while recovering from a groin injury.
The two played together at San Mig Coffee during the 2014 Governors’ Cup where the Mixers completed a grand slam.
“Remembrance,” said Yap. “Medyo matagal na rin kami hindi nagkita and siyempre ‘yung mga pinagdaanan namin nung naging teammate ko siya sa Purefoods, ‘yun ‘yung mga nami-miss namin.”
“Nagpalit kami para habambuhay, magkasama kami,” Yap said.

This was the second time Blakely exchanged jerseys with a member of that fabled team. Last week, Blakely did it with Marc Pingris, one of the few Magnolia holdovers from that grand slam team.
Yap considers Blakely a big part of his career, the reason he vowed to frame the import's No. 32 kit.
"Siyempre, grand slam kami nun eh. Kasama siya sa buhay ko. Part siya ng career ko sa PBA. Siyempre, nagpapasalamat ako sa kanya na dinala niya kami sa grand slam,” said the two-time league MVP.
