TWO games in and Jameel McKay is still trying to achieve chemistry with his Phoenix teammates.
The 24 year old import finished with 31 points and 11 rebounds on Sunday night but couldn't save Phoenix from suffering a 134-109 blowout loss at the hands of TNT Ka-Tropa in the PBA Commissioner's Cup.
Phoenix has now lost two games in a row since McKay came in to replace stand-in Eugene Phelps, and the import believes he must lead from the front if the Fuelmasters are to stop the rut.
"I always have been a leader for the teams I played with, so I just got to be a better leader in this group and just come in in one leap and help us win games," said McKay. "Right now that's just my only focus - to win games."

Coach Ariel Vanguardia, who bared that his import has suffered from food poisoning the past two games, said the team needs to blend with its import if it is to turn its fortunes around.
"We have to figure out where to give him the shots at kung saan siya mas magiging effective," Vanguardia said. "If he's got three guys on him every time we take a shot, the other guys should be able to get the ball."
A win might still be elusive for McKay, but he's not losing hope.
"It's (the wins) gonna come. I wish that it came sooner than later but it's gonna come. Just gotta keep getting better. Control what we can control and things will start to go our way sooner or later."
