JACKSON Corpuz just joined the growing injury list of Columbian Dyip after being diagnosed with a sprained ACL and partial tear of the left meridian meniscus.
The 29-year-old Corpuz went down with the injury in the Dyip’s 134-132 overtime stunner of San Miguel Beer in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Sunday.
The Dyip wingman fell awkwardly early in the fourth quarter and never returned again, finishing with seven points and five rebounds. He went straight to Cardinal Santos hospital after the game.
An MRI test and further check-up by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Raul Canlas revealed the extent of the injury suffered by the former Philippine Christian University stalwart.
Corpuz is the latest Columbian player put on the injury list along with guard Reden Celda and big man JayR Reyes.
He is expected to be sidelined for three to four months, although no surgery is needed.
At the most, Corpuz will be back at midway point of the season-ending Governors Cup.
He already missed the Dyip’s game against NorthPort on Wednesday, a 110-108 loss that dampened further their slim hopes of making the quarterfinals with a 2-7 record.
Columbia will have Phoenix and Barangay Ginebra for its final two assignments in the elimination round.
