RAIN or Shine co-owner Terry Que on Saturday night rued the controversial foul called on Beau Belga that led to Mac Baracael's game-winning free throws, saying it was like a "robbery in broad daylight."
The usually mild-mannered Que was livid after referee Non Quilingen called a foul on Beau Belga as Baracael threw up a desperation three-point attempt in the final seconds on Saturday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Video replays showed Rain or Shine has valid grounds to contest the call.
Baracael went on to make the three free throws with .3 of a second left to seal Ginebra's 101-100 win, leaving Que and co-owner Raymund Yu, coach Yeng Guiao, the players, and the team's supporters livid after the game.
"Kitang-kita 'yon. Parang robbery in broad daylight naman 'yun," said Que who immediately asked team officials to draft the protest letter before the grace period for the filing of protests could lapse.
Co-owner Raymund Yu said they are willing to pay the P20,000 bond for the protest.
Guiao said: "For whatever it was worth, we feel we were robbed of the win. It was an obvious no foul. Referee Quilingen does not deserve to officiate in this league."
