ISAAC Go began practicing with Terrafirma on Friday, and there is a chance that he could make his PBA debut on Saturday against Blackwater at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Terrafirma coach Johnedel Cardel said Go has formally joined his mother club in the PBA after signing a two-year deal on Thursday.
Terrafirma has also activated Go as its 14th local player ahead of the clash against Blackwater.
Cardel said that despite the limited time with the team, he could field the former Ateneo standout for a limited time.
“Baka sandali ko lang siya ipasok. Kanina lang kasi siya nag-ensayo,” said Cardel on Friday.
The 26-year-old Go is in line to make his PBA debut after two years with the Gilas Pilipinas program. Go was drafted first by the Dyip in the 2019 special draft.
Skidding Terrafirma hopes to get a big boost from Isaac Go.
Go, whose Gilas stint enabled him to play in the Fiba Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Serbia last July, should be an added spark for the Dyip, who got off to a slow start with a 1-4 record and are on a three-game losing streak.
The Dyip lost to San Miguel, 100-88, on Dec. 26, 2021, sustaining a slide that was compounded when Alex Cabagnot suffered a torn Achilles tendon in a game against NLEX previously.
Terrafirma faces a Blackwater squad at 4 p.m. that hopes to break a 24-game losing streak.
The Bossing are still winless after five games and are coming off a 98-75 loss to Alaska last December 22 before the suspension of the conference due to the Omicron surge.
