FOR the second straight game, bad luck hounded Magnolia guard Jerom Lastimosa.
The sophomore playmaker tweaked his ankle after stepping on the foot of Rome Dela Rosa while going for a rebound early in the PBA Philippine Cup game between the Hotshots and the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters at the Khalifa City Sports Stadium in Bahrain early Tuesday morning (Manila time).
Lastimosa went down with the injury at the 5:35 mark of the first period and the Hotshots trailing, 7-14.

He stayed on the floor for a few minutes, but managed to stand and walk on his own a little bit.
Nonetheless, Lastimosa, who was wincing in pain, went straight to the Magnolia dugout assisted by team staff and teammates to get a temporary medical treatment.
The injury was diagnosed as severe ankle sprain as Lastimosa’s left foot had swollen the moment he took off his shoes. He had three points, a rebound, and an assist when he went out of the game.

The injury came a game after the former Adamson star suffered a concussion during the Hotshots’ outing against the NLEX Road Warriors.
Lastimosa banged his head on the Ynares Center floor in Montalban during the second quarter, leaving him with a lump and a feeling of dizziness.
He never returned to the game, which Magnolia won, 98-82.
