PAUL Zamar and JM Calma are still long ways from returning to NorthPort’s active roster.
Both Zamar and Calma are recovering from their respective ACL injuries and have yet to see action in the PBA Season 49.

The 37-year-old Zamar is just four months removed from suffering the injury, while the 6-foot-6 Calma has been sidelined since two months earlier.
The Northport guard couldn’t say for sure if he can already be available to play by the time the Philippine Cup rolls on.
“Rehab pa lang ako ngayon, pero si JM mas maagang makakabalik kaysa sa 'kin,” said Zamar.

“Pero no contact [practices] pa ako kaya doubtful kung makakalaro na ako sa all-Filipino.”
A recipient of the Samboy Lim Sportsmanship Award for Season 48, the son of San Miguel deputy coach Boycie Zamar said he’s actually being advised by renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. George Canlas to just skip the ongoing season and take time to recover from the injury.
“Yun ang gusto ni Doc Canlas kasi nga mahirap kapag minadali,” Zamar added.
Despite the absence of the two, the Batang Pier are going great guns in the mid-season tournament which they currently lead with a 6-1 card following their 120-113 win over guest team Eastern in the Commissioner’s Cup.
