JUST as Magnolia perked up its PBA Commissioner’s Cup campaign to start 2025, bad news came that Paul Lee would be out for at least a week due to a meniscus injury.
Magnolia coach Chito Victolero disclosed the veteran shooting guard will be out for a couple of games including the big one against defending champion San Miguel on Sunday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Lee, 35, already missed the game against Terrafirma on Friday night, which the Hotshots barely won, 89-84.
He sat on the Magnolia bench in streets clothes as the Hotshots won only their third game in eight outings.
“Nilagay muna namin siya sa injury/reserved list, “Victolero said of Lee. “But the target is on (Jan) 16th. But if not, I think sa 26th na siya. Yun ang target ng medical staff namin.”
The Hotshots will have Phoenix Fuel Masters as their opponents on the Jan 16.
If he missed the Phoenix game, Lee’s return on the 26th will have Magnolia facing guest team Eastern.
The Meralco Bolts serve as the Hotshots’ final game in the eliminations on the 31st.
The injury is the latest to hound Lee this conference after earlier missing out two games due to a rib contusion.
Last Dec. 20, he also skipped Magnolia’s outing against NLEX following a freak accident at the Philsports Arena where the rail barrier fell on him while warming up prior to the game.
In the four games he played so far with the Hotshots, Lee averaged 8.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.
