Injured Castro has no doubt Ray Parks can fill TnT void at point guard

JAYSON Castro said Bobby Ray Parks brings a new dimension to the TnT lineup that will only bolster the KaTropa's quest to end a title drought in the PBA.

“Masaya kami napunta siya sa amin kasi malaking help,” Castro said of Parks, who came in via trade with Blackwater for Don Trollano, Anthony Semerad and a 2021 first-round draft pick . “At the same time, alam naman natin kung ano kaya niyang ibigay sa team. Malaking factor ‘yun.”

Parks can expect a baptism of fire at TnT as he will debut in KaTropa’s match against Barangay Ginebra which Castro will sit out owing to injury.

That means the son of the great Bobby Parks will at some point spend time at point role - a role which Castro has no doubt he is capable of.

Parks, he said, can play - and guard - multiple positions.

“Nakaka-create siya for his teammate at kaya niyang mag-draw ng attention. Kapag one-on-one, kaya naman niya umiskor. Maganda para sa amin ‘yun,” said Castro.

Castro said he expects Parks to have an easy time adjusting to the system of TNT coach Bong Ravena and active consultant Mark Dickel.

“Lahat naman dito professional at ‘yun ang kagandahan with coach Mark. Open communication kami dito. Isa lang ang goal namin. Makapasok uli ng semis and then from semis, let’s see kung makakapasok uli ng finals,” said Castro.
