INJURY keeps on hounding Meralco.
After veteran guard Jimmy Alapag, big man Rabeh Al-Hussaini is expected to be sidelined for at least two weeks after suffering a bad ankle sprain during the Bolts’ 90-87 win over Phoenix on Sunday in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Al-Hussaini stepped on the foot of teammate Ken Bono early in the second quarter and never returned again after playing for just two minutes and scoring two points and a single rebound.
The injured foot immediately swelled and left the center out of Ateneo limping out of the Smart-Araneta Coliseum after the game.
“It’s a bad sprain,” Al-Hussaini said. “May swelling na agad.”

Al-Hussaini is the second casualty for Meralco after Alapag, who already missed two games of the Bolts owing to a pulled hamstring injury.
The Meralco big man doesn’t know how long the sprained ankle will keep him away from playing, adding, “hopefully, less than a week, two weeks.”
“I’ll try to make it back as fast as possible.”
But he’ll take the injury as long as the Bolts keep on winning, extending the team’s record to 4-0 following the win over the FuelMasters.
“Accident lang siguro, hindi naman inaasahan,” he said. “Ganun talaga. Pero okay lang, panalo naman kami.”
