MAGNOLIA is banking on a new import in its coming bid for the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Terrell Brown-Soares will reinforce the Hotshots in the mid-season conference that kicks off on March 11. The 6-foot-9 product of University of San Diego arrived over the weekend and had lunch with Magnolia coach LA Tenorio on Sunday.
Listed as a 6-foot-9 power-forward, Brown-Soares went undrafted in the NBA and later decided to play overseas in countries such as Czech Republic, Mexico, and most recently in Poland with the Miasto Szkla Krosno.

“Bagong import. Sana okay and mag-fit sa amin,” said Tenorio, who just arrived from Doha, Qatar as part of the PBA delegation for the inauguration of the Batang PBA international.
The Magnolia rookie coach admitted the team also had former Best Import Jonathan Williams on the Hotshots’ radar.
“Kaso hindi siya available,“ said Tenorio of Williams, who reinforced the Phoenix Fuel Masters in the Season 48 Commissioner’s Cup and beat Magnolia's Tyler Bey for the best import award.
Williams is currently playing in England.
In last season’s Commissioner’s Cup, Magnolia barely made it to the playoffs as the eighth seed with Ricardo Ratliffe as import. The Hotshots were booted out by top seed Northport in the quarterfinals.
