AIR21 coach Franz Pumaren rued import Herve Lamizana’s performance, especially in the endgame of the Express’ 78-88 loss to Alaska on Monday in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
The Ivorian power forward registered 16 points, 10 boards, three assists, one block, and one steal in 43 minutes as he was outplayed by Aces counterpart and reigning Best Import Rob Dozier.
While admitting the import has gotten better in shape, Pumaren felt Lamizana’s showing left much to be desired.
“What he showed today is not your typical import type of (numbers),” Pumaren told a bunch of waiting scribes after the game. “And down the stretch, he made some mental mistakes,”
Lamizana could only muster two points in the fourth quarter, where the Aces turned the game around and outscored the losers by 11 points.
Asked about the possibility of an import change, Pumaren was non-committal.
“We’ll see. We’re still gonna evaluate him.”
