RAIN or Shine coach Yeng Guiao remains positive about their campaign in the PBA Season 50 Commissioner's Cup despite their two losses over the past three games, including Wednesday's setback.

The Elasto Painters were defeated by NLEX, 92-90, after JB Bahio drained a right corner jumper with 0.3 seconds left, with the two teams now tied for first holding similar 8-2 records.

Guiao isn't worried about this latest defeat, however, emphasizing that RoS remains on target to realize its goal of capturing a twice-to-beat advantage for the quarterfinals, regardless of seeding.

“Importante lang naman sa amin maka-nine wins kami. May two games pa kami. Pinakaimportante lang yung maka-No. 1 ka or No. 2,” he said.

“Hindi mo naman makokontrol kung sino makakalaban mo sa quarterfinals. Importante lang, meron kang twice-to-beat. Very realizable naman yung nine wins."

Just go 1-of-2

Rain or Shine has two more games before the playoffs, including a Sunday match-up against Barangay Ginebra, which now owns the longest active winning streak at five in a row.

The Elasto Painters then end the eliminations vs. also-ran Titan Ultra on May 8.

“May Ginebra pa kami. May Titan pa kami. I think we can win at least one of those to get nine wins,” Guiao said.

“I'm not really worried. I'm not that much disappointed. We controlled most of the game, but there will be times when you won't get the breaks in the endgame.”

Speaking of which, the defeat to the Road Warriors also saw Jhonard Clarito missing two free throws just before the Bahio game-winner, but Guiao urged his players not to cry over spilled milk.

“Ok lang yun. Nangyayari yun. I think importante magmarka sa kanila yun para ayusin nila or pagpraktisan pa nila yung weaknesses ng game nila, one of them is free throws," he said.

"Mabuti nakapagpundar na kami ng walong panalo. Hindi naman namin masyadong dinaramdam yun. Importante lang talaga, maka-nine wins.”
