CAELAN Tiongson missed out on Rain or Shine’s thrilling 115-111 win over Barangay Ginebra in the opener of their PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinal series, but it seems like he’s not gonna be out for long for the Elasto Painters.
Yeng Guiao shared that his star two-way forward sat out due to explosive diarrhea – and it may be the reason why he can be seen going in and out of the locker room from the Rain or Shine bench for the entirety of the game.

Making matters worse, they also lost Luis Villegas in what’s feared to be a hamstring injury in the first play of the second half.
“We lost Caelan today medyo masama 'yung tiyan niya. Si Luis we also lost him [late], We lost a lot of players today but we’re still there fighting,” he said.
“We hope Caelan can play next Friday. Medyo masama yung tiyan niya may diarrhea ata. Explosive diarrhea pa nga. We’ll see how it pans out on Friday.”
Losing Tiongson meant Rain or Shine was left without its best defender against Ginebra import Justin Brownlee, especially after how the former performed on both ends in their closeout win over San Miguel in the quarterfinals.
The sophomore forward dropped 23 points but most importantly kept SMB import Bennie Boatwright in-check, limiting the Gilas Pilipinas naturalized prospect to just 24 points on 10-of-27 shooting.
Nonetheless, Guiao is happy with how the rest of the team responded as they took turns in containing Brownlee.
“Pinagtulungan nila Santi, nila Christian, tapos pagdating ng huli import to import na yung match-up so we just tried to preserve JJ so there’s something he can pull in the fourth quarter siyempre pagod din yung taom” he said.
“Pero tulong-tulong talaga maski si Jhonard, si Mike Malonzo tumulong so kung ano yung pwede i-contribute inunti unti lang namin.”
