RAIN or Shine coach Yeng Guiao took exception to Cliff Hodge after he was called for an unsportmanlike foul against Adrian Nocum in Sunday’s game in the PBA 50th Season Governors’ Cup.
Guiao called out Hodge during the postgame press conference after Nocum's scary collision with Hodge at the 4:06 mark of the third quarter of Rain of Shine's 85-83 win over the Bolts at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

“Medyo kinabahan kami sa nangyari kay Adrian,” Guiao said. “Again it was Cliff Hodge. Dami ng ganung insidente ni Cliff Hodge.
“He is the dirtiest player in the league, I think. Dapat siguro tingnan ng liga ‘yan. He is a danger to the other players in the game. His record speaks for itself.”
Nocum and Hodge both fell down after the collision and both players were seen complaining about pain in their knees before the two got up with the help of their respective teammates.
Guiao said the fact that Hodge was called for an unsportsmanlike foul is proof that his action was unnecessary.
“Sinaksak niya ‘yung paa niya eh. Kaya siya tinawagan ng unsportsmanlike foul. Maraming incidents na ganun na I think cause danger to the players. It’s always been a lot of situations and incidents that Hodge is involved. Tingin ko it’s a danger to his fellow players,” Guiao said.
This is not the first time that Guiao and Hodge had their differences, with the most infamous one coming in 2014 when he confronted Hodge and uttered a ‘mongoloid’ slur.
Guiao apologized for those who were offended by the slur, but not to Hodge.
