ANOTHER loss didn’t discourage Sedrick Barefield from keeping fit in pursuit of an elusive win for Blackwater in the PBA 50th Season Philippine Cup.
Right after the Bossing bowed to Magnolia, 90-75, on Friday for their sixth straight loss, the Blackwater star still had enough energy to do his recovery work with some bands, light weights, and a medicine ball at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum hallway.

Barefield did the postgame recovery work after seeing the most action among the Bossing at over 34 minutes, more than enough time to lead the team with 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field, five boards, and three assists, against four turnovers.
The Filipino-American playmaker, though, went scoreless in the third quarter where the Hotshtos outscored the Bossing, 30-14, to turn the game around and pull away.
Dalph Panopio and Richard Escoto were the only other Bossing players who scored in double figures with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Nevertheless, Barefield, the Season 49 all-rookie team member is eager to stay in shape after missing the Bossing’s season debut with a shoulder injury. That game, though, saw his team roll past Terrafirma, 107-87, to jumpstart its campaign.
Since Barefield returned to action, though, Blackwater has yet to taste victory in its next six games.
Barefield has plenty of time to recover as the Bossing’s next game will be after the Fiba window break on December 6 against Phoenix at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
