GREG Slaughter remains open to a return to Barangay Ginebra even though he currently has offers to continue his professional basketball league abroad.
Slaughter said during an interview with Power and Play of Noli Eala he has received offers to play international ball following his decision to sign with BeoBasket, one of the most well-known agencies in the world.
But Slaughter said the door is very much open to the possibility of playing again with Ginebra, the team that drafted him in 2013. Slaughter confirmed that he has already got in touch with Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone about meeting with team officials.
“At the moment, we are going to have a meeting. But right now, I’m just waiting on Ginebra to get back to me with a firm date. But I’m ready to go,” said Slaughter.

Slaughter added he is definitely not discounting the possibility of re-signing with Barangay Ginebra.
“I’m open to all possibilities. My level of play has elevated. There have been also interest from other teams abroad. But at the moment, with respect to Ginebra and everything, all our experience we’ve been through, I definitely love to talk to them before I make my final decisions. As of the moment, I’m just waiting to meet with them,” said Slaughter.
The former Ateneo big man recently returned to the country after eight months of training in the United States. Along the way, Slaughter signed up with BeoBasket, whose clients include Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic.
Slaughter didn’t mention which clubs aboard have expressed interest in signing him, but he made it clear that a return to Ginebra remains very much a possibility depending on the talks.
“I love the Philippines. The Philippines has always been a home to me. I definitely want to see what I can get work out here before I make any decisions to go abroad,” said Slaughter.
