Greg Slaughter leads Best Player race in Commissioner's Cup with Tyler Wilkerson tops in Best Import category

GREG Slaughter solidified his chances of winning his first Best Player of the Conference award as he emerged on top of the statistical points (SPs) standings at the end of the elimination round of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

The Ginebra star slotman, who averaged 18.5 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 1.4 assists, and .8 steal in 10 games, racked up 37.4 SPs entering the quarterfinals.

Alaska star Calvin Abueva came in second with 33.6 average SPs, his numbers hurt by subtractions due to a couple of technical fouls, while Terrence Romeo of GlobalPort followed with 33 average SPs.

Jayson Castro of Tropang TNT (30.3) and NLEX’s Sean Anthony (29.9) rounded out the Top Five, while perennial BPC candidate June Mar Fajardo, hampered by injuries, came in at far ninth with 28.1 average SPs.

San Miguel Beer reinforcement Tyler Wilkerson, who leads the tournament in scoring with 36.9 points per game, is setting the pace in the Best Import race with 60 average SPs.

Al Thornton of NLEX is second at 52.4, while TNT’s David Simon rounded out the Top Three at 51.1.
