BINAN, LAGUNA - Greg Slaughter picked a good time to make his comeback for Barangay Ginebra, making his presence felt in a 105-91 thrashing of Blackwater for the team's first win in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Alonte Sports Arena here on Friday night.

The 7-foot center started for the Kings and played for almost 25 minutes in his first game back after sitting out for close to three months owing to a severely sprained ankle.

Slaughter collected 12 points and six rebounds, but committed four turnovers in a game Ginebra dominated from the second quarter onwards.

The product of Ateneo admitted he's not yet 100 percent fit.

"It feels great to be out there with the guys and there's a lot of fun out there," said Slaughter after the game. "But I got to work and get in better shape because for a few moments out there I was catching my breath really hard."

There was still some discomfort on the ankle, according to Slaughter, although he expects to feel much better once he finally gets in playing shape.

"Definitely I'm not in shape yet. And I need to work on that in the next coming weeks," he said

Slaughter sprained his ankle in practice during the eliminations of the Philippine Cup, an injury that kept him totally out of the playoffs and in the Kings' first two games in the tournament which the team both lost.

He admitted getting frustrated by the experience, but is ready to put everything behind him now.

"Rather than be down about it, I'll just keep on working to come back," Slaughter said.
