GREG Slaughter congratulated Barangay Ginebra for their 2020 PBA Philippine Cup championship.
Slaughter wrote a short message to the team on his Twitter account shortly after the Gin Kings captured the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup title by defeating TNT in Game Five, 82-78, on Wednesday night.
“Congratulations, fellas. Way to get it,” wrote Slaughter, adding a trophy emoji and the word #NSD to his tweet.
Slaughter took a sabbatical from basketball after his contract expired following Ginebra’s conquest of the Governors’ Cup title. He has since worked on his skills in the US before returning to the country weeks ago.
Even with Slaughter not in the team, the Gin Kings continued their success, winning the Philippine Cup crown on Wednesday, essentially making them back-to-back champions.

Ginebra fans took notice of the tweet, with several of them saying that they are looking forward to his return to the Gin Kings in the 2021 season.
Some also replied that it would have been great if Slaughter was also part of the team this year so that he can also celebrate a championship with Barangay Ginebra.
Jared Dillinger also replied to the tweet, thanking his teammate for the congratulatory message.
