GREG Slaughter cannot hide his frustration after being forced to sit out again in another seven-game series against San Miguel, this time in the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals, due to a sprained left ankle.

The seven-foot slotman turned out to be the missing piece for Ginebra when the Kings lost to their sister team in five games in last year's finals.

After watching his team drop a 102-90 beating at the hands of June Mar Fajardo and the Beermen, Slaughter is aching to return to action.

“It’s very frustrating but I try not to let it get the best of me. Right now I need to heal and get my ankle okay so I can get back out there,” said Slaughter.

“No point in just moping around, just got to stay positive and try to get health again,” he added.

Slaughter is still listed as day-by-day by Ginebra management but he hopes to be back by next week, by which time the swelling on his left ankle is expected to subside.

Judging from that time table, the earliest he could return is Game Three which is set on Tuesday at the Mall of Asia arena.

“We’re doing everything to get back as soon as I can be. Just takin it day by day, as soon as I can jump on it, I’ll be out there,” the former top draft pick overall added.

If he had his way, he’ll be out on the court as soon as he can put pressure on his foot.

“Now’s the time to play. So I’m trying to get back in there, maybe force it a little bit. As soon as I can go out there,” the former Ateneo stndout said.
