TNT KaTropa's new import Mychal Ammons impressed on his first game in the PBA Governors' Cup, helping his team stay unscathed in five games to preserve the league-leading record.
Ammons finished with 18 points and 18 rebounds in a dominant 109-89 win over Blackwater on Saturday, but he bared he wasn't satisfied especially with his field goal shooting.
"To be honest, I didn't really feel good about my game," said Ammons, who was undrafted in the NBA in 2014.
"I felt like I could still get better. But for my first game in the PBA, I'm not satisfied but I'm happy with it. I was 4-of-11. That's bad offensively. I feel like it couldn't get much worse than that."
Coach Jong Uichico, though, was quick to credit his import's poor shooting to Ammons' transition period with the team and the PBA style of play.
"We're trying to feel out Mychal. of course, we weren't really able to play scrimmages with Mychal. He is trying to feel us out also," he said.
Ammons, who arrived in the country on Thursday, vowed to do better in TNT's next game in the hope of proving that he's a perfect fit for KaTropa.
"I will do more next game. I'm actually figuring out how I fit here in the team but next game I can't do nothing but play better," he said.
