BAY Area coach Brian Goorjian welcomed the additional break in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup finals with Game Seven moved to Sunday still to be played at the Philippine Arena.

Goorjian said he would have also wanted to play Game Seven on Friday, but the PBA, in response to, according to the league, the request of the fans, moved the much-awaited game on Sunday following Bay Area’s 87-84 win on Wednesday.
The weekend game, the conclusion to what has been a one-of-a-kind series between the league’s most popular ballclub against a foreign guest team, will still be held at the Philippine Arena.
“Again, I don’t care when it is played,” said Goorjian. “I’m just so excited to be part of it. Whatever is the best for whatever goes on here, absolutely no complaints. Everything has been above board… My team is totally comfortable with it.”
Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone expressed disappointment that the original schedule of Game Seven was moved to a later day, but said they will adjust to the change.
But Goorjian didn’t deny that the extra days off will be beneficial to the ballclub, especially with Myles Powell playing hurt in the finals series. Powell was recently re-activated following a torn tendon in his left toe, and finished with 29 points including 12 in the fourth.
“Certainly, no negatives for us. Extra time. We were ready to play on Friday. But extra time is good for us. No problem there,” said Goorjian.
