GLOBALPORT has yet to discuss, let alone give its permission to Terrence Romeo to let him play for Gilas Pilipinas in the Fiba Asia Champions Cup in China starting next Friday.
Romeo earlier said he will seek permission from his mother team, although he has already attended two practice sessions, one as an active participant, of the national team that will be under the banner of Chooks To Go in the nine-day club tournament in Chenzhou.
But Batang Pier management admitted they have yet to talk about situation.
“Hindi pa namin napapag-usapan,” GloblaPort alternate governor Erick Arejola said after the team’s 109-83 loss to Star on Wednesday night.
Arejola looked even surprised when he was informed that there is an upcoming club tournament.
As long as the Batang Pier, who dropped to 3-6, are in contention in the season-ending conference, Romeo’s participation is still up in the air.
Romeo was held to just 11 points on 3-of-16 shooting, although he dished out eight assists and grabbed two boards in 31 minutes in the loss to the Hotshots.
