GLOBALPORT badly missed Terrence’s Romeo offensive production in the team’s 107-79 loss to Alaska in their respective PBA Commissioner’s debuts on Saturday night.
The Batang Pier superstar and reigning two-time scoring champion was out with an illness that left him confined in a hospital, leaving his team searching for scoring outside Stanley Pringle as import Sean Williams was saddled with four trouble.
“He is still sick,” GlobalPort coach Franz Pumaren said of Romeo in a text message after he already left the venue. “He just got out of the hospital a while ago.”
Pumaren is hopeful Romeo can play in the team's next game on Saturday against Star in Lanao del Norte.

The Batang Pier missed Romeo’s averages in the Philippine Cup of 28.2 points, along with 6.1 assists, 4.2 boards, and 1.3 steals that allowed him to finish second to June Mar Fajardo in the Best Player of the Conference race.
Aces coach Alex Compton admitted how huge of an impact Romeo’s absence was, noting the GlobalPort cornerstone’s scoring average last conference could erase the Aces’ lead in the final score.
“What was the final (score)…and how many points does Terrence average?” Compton asked as he sat down for the post-game conference.
