LA Tenorio hit four key threes to send Barangay Ginebra to the semifinals, sweeping NorthPort, 99-93, on Saturday in the 2022-23 PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Philsports Arena.

Tenorio tied James Yap for third in the all-time three-point list in style, lifting Ginebra to close out NorthPort, advancing to the semifinals against Magnolia Chicken Timplados.
The Ginebra veteran came through in the clutch with his 1,178th three of his career in the 2:39 mark of the game, capping off a 10-0 run to take a 97-85 lead after it was chopped down to two.
Tenorio finished with 14 points, including back-to-back threes in an 11-0 run to give Ginebra the lead for good, 65-56, after NorthPort led by as many as 18 points in the contest.
Ginebra though had to earn the win, coming back from a 29-11 lead after William Navarro went off and scored 10 points in the first half. But Navarro suffered an injury late in the second and never returned.

Justin Brownlee had 20 points, nine rebounds, and four assists, while Scottie Thompson had 15 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists for the Gin Kings.
“I’m concerned that we didn’t play well tonight,” said Ginebra coach Tim Cone ahead of the ‘Manila Clasico’ semifinals.
Jeff Chan had 20 points, while Arvin Tolentino and Kevin Ferrer erupted for 18 points apiece to give NorthPort a chance in the game, only to fall in the end.
