BARANGAY Ginebra defeated Changwon LG Sakers, 95-91, on Tuesday night in the Asian Showdown 2 exhibition game at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Justin Brownlee topscored with 27 points for the Gin Kings, who still needed the heroics of Stanley Pringle late to put the game away.

With the Kings up by just two and the Sakers primed for a comeback, Pringle hit the dagger three-pointer from the left corner with 9.3 seconds left to give the Kings a 93-88 win to the delight of the predominantly Ginebra crowd.

After the Sakers scored a three-point play to cut the deficit to two, LA Tenorio hit two free throws with 0.9 seconds left to settle the final score.

With the win, the Gin Kings finished their pre-conference tuneup games with a 3-1 win-loss record while avenging their loss to the Sakers last Friday.

The exhibition game hardly looked like one after the Sakers fought back from a 14-point deficit entering the fourth quarter, 75-61.

Kim Sirae led a comeback bid by the Sakers that cut the deficit to one, 82-81, to set up the thrilling finish.

Scottie Thompson clustered four straight points but Cady Lalanne trimmed the Kings’ lead to two points, 88-86, with 1:40 left.
