BOBBY Ray Parks scored Blackwater’s final seven points in overtime to lift his team to a 108-107 win over defending champion Barangay Ginebra to stay unbeaten in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Parks had 28 points including baskets in the clutch as the Elite remained undefeated with a 2-0 win-loss card in a big follow-up to their victory over Meralco in the opener.

Parks hit a huge triple and a lay-up that gave Blackwater a 106-99 lead before staving off a late rally by Ginebra. Scottie Thompson missed a corner jumper in Ginebra’s final possession to claim the victory.

Alex Stepheson had 28 points and 25 rebounds, while Mac Belo added 20 points and 13 rebounds as they were also the unsung heroes for the Elite in the victory over the Gin Kings.

“I have to give a lot of credit to my players,” said Blackwater interim coach Aris Dimaunahan, who has now beaten two Grand Slam coaches in Norman Black and Tim Cone in his first two games in his new role with the Elite.

“It was a grinding game. Hindi ko ma-explain. I always thought that our team is built for these kinds of games. Those tune-up games that we had, ni-ready kami sa mga ganitong laro. All of our tune-up games are close games. This is another helluva game for us,” Dimaunahan added.
