BARANGAY Ginebra seeks to quickly get its groove back as it tangles with Rain or Shine on Saturday in their PBA Governors' Cup matchup at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Gin Kings are coming off a 107-103 loss to San Miguel Beer last Sunday when they went down by a huge margin before making a late stand that fell short as they saw their seven-game win streak come to an end.
And although the Gin Kings are still atop the standings at 7-2, coach Tim Cone is hoping his wards to vent their ire on the Elasto Painters when they face off at 5 p.m.
"After the beat down that SMB gave us, needless to say, this is an important bounce back game for us," Cone said on the eve of the game. "Hopefully that was a wake-up call for us."
"We really need to re-establish our discipline towards our defense and the tempo in which we play," he added. "We lost that against SMB and need to recover it in time for the playoffs."
The defending champion Gin Kings, though, are facing a worthy challenger in the E-Painters, who are seeking a sixth win in nine games ans start a win streak following a 116-111 victory over Phoneix just last Wednesday.
The grand slam-seeking Beermen take on winless Kia in the curtain-raiser at 3 o'clock.
