Skidding teams battle for survival
The two previous teams that were on top have suddenly gone south and are both on a five-game losing skein as they avoid outright elimination. The Batang Pier lost out to Terrafirma in a close contest, 110-108, while the Bossing are coming off an 81-77 setback against Magnolia. Northport carries a 4-6 record for ninth spot, just above the 3-5 Blackwater in the tight race for the remaining quarterfinal berths.

Ginebra unveils new acquisition, Dave Murrell
All eyes will be on Fil-Am Dave Murrell as he makes his debut for the Kings, who signed him up from the unrestricted free agent list after the nine remaining teams expressed no interest in signing up the slam dunk champion during the five-day window given out by the league. Murrell previously suited up for Magnolia.
Kings eyeing Top 2 finish
Following the Magnolia loss to San Miguel, the Kings have ascended to no. 2 with their 6-3 record and are out to keep it that way in a bid to finish at the Top 2 in the standings for a twice-to-beat advantage in the playoffs. The league’s most popular ballclub is currently on a roll behind wins over TNT, Northport, and Blackwater.
Converge looking to make it 2 straight
The FiberXers finally broke through the win column behind a morale-boosting 104-99 victory against Meralco. Rookie Bryan Santos was a revelation for the team by hitting 7-of-10 from beyond the arc to finish with 22 points and complement the inside-out duo of Justin Arana and Alec Stockton. Converge certainly wants a fitting follow-up to the win as coach Aldin Ayo said the team is looking to finish a woeful campaign (1-8) on a high note.
