BARANGAY Ginebra looks to advance to the PBA Governors Cup semifinals when the Gin Kings go up against the NLEX Road Warriors on Tuesday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
The top-seed Kings and the eight-seed Road Warriors clash at 7 p.m. with the two-time defending champion owning a twice-to-beat edge.
Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone notes there are rarely easy games against teams handled by Yeng Guiao.
“I think we, as coaches, try to avoid certain coaches that we want to play in the playoffs and certainly, Yeng Guiao is one of those coaches you want to avoid in the playoffs,” Cone said.
“He gets his guys ready. They play hard and you know that you’re going to be into a tough battle with coach Yeng,” said Cone.
Ginebra finished the elimination round with a 9-2 record including a 112-93 win over TNT on Sunday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
NLEX, on the other hand, wound up in the eighth seed after losing to Rain or Shine, 107-101, and Meralco winning over San Miguel, 111-81.
