IF Sen. Tito Sotto is to be believed, not one but two PBA teams want to have overnight sensation Yaya Dub as muse for the opening of the league's 41st season in October.
The Eat Bulaga! host on Thursday mentioned during the noontime show's popular 'Kalyeserye' segment that no less than Mahindra (formerly KIA) playing coach Manny Pacquiao has contacted him to express inerest in having Yaya Dub as muse of the Enforcers.
Sotto said officials from Ginebra have also gotten in touch with him about the possibility of having Yaya Dub, Maine Mendoza in real life, who rose to fame in the Eat Bulaga segment where she plays the sidekick of Lola Nidora (played by comedian Wally Bayola).
“’Yung mga basketball teams, gusto kunin si Yaya Dub,” Sotto said during the show. “Si Manny Pacquiao kinausap ako kahapon. ‘Yung Ginebra, kinausap ako.”
Barangay Ginebra fans have been clamoring for Mendoza to be the team’s muse on social media following the phenomenal success of her love team with Alden Richards dubbed as #AlDub.
In their skit, Sotto said that Lola Nidora, Yaya Dub’s boss, does not approve of her servant being a muse, while suggesting that her grand daughter Duhrizz should play the part instead.
“Ayaw pumayag ni Lola. Kung gusto daw nila, si Duh na lang,” said Sotto, referring to the Duhrizz character also being played by Bayola.
