AFTER a one-conference hiatus, Filipino sports apparel brand Accel is back to dress the country's most popular ballclub.
A Sporteum Philippines spokesman revealed that Accel is back as Barangay Ginebra's official outfitter and the maker of the most in demand replica jersey in the country.
Titan had provided Ginebra's game jerseys in the PBA Philippine Cup, but Accel's return had nothing to do with Ginebra's decision to replace former coach and Titan part-owner Jeff Cariaso with Ato Agustin.
"Sobrang love ni (Accel) boss (Willy Ortiz) ang Ginebra. It's one of our most important and special clients," a spokesman said.
Except for the state-of-the-art sublimation printing and ultra-light jerseys, no changes in Ginebra's design should be expected when the Kings make their Commissioner's Cup debut on January 27 against Meralco.
Aside from Ginebra, Accel also takes care of the uniform requirements of the Kia Sorento, GlobalPort Batang Pier and San Miguel Beermen.
