BARANGAY Ginebra vented its ire on Northport behind a vengeful 131-106 win in the PBA Philippine Cup Wednesday night at the PhilSports Arena.
The Kings exploded with their outside shooting right from the get-go, raining down the Batang Pier with three-point baskets to set the tempo of the high-scoring encounter.
Ginebra already had 10 3s by halftime to seize a huge 70-43 lead on the way to its second win in three outings.
The Kings finished with a 17-of-32 shooting from three-point range.
The 25-point blowout win came at the heels of the Kings’ 104-93 loss to the San Miguel Beermen.
Rookie RJ Abarrientos led the Kings’ assault from the three-point range by going 6-of-7 from the area for a game-high 27 points, while newly-activated Jayson David played an inspired game with 25 points on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting from 3s.

“We really came out with really good focus, and that’s what were always trying to do. Obviously we didn’t do that against San Miguel,” said coach Tim Cone after the victory.
Stephen Holt added 17 points for Ginebra, which also drew 15 each from Japeth Aguilar and Troy Rosario, while Jamie Malonzo had a double-double of 14 and 12 rebounds.
Northport lost for the third straight game and fell to 1-3 record as it missed the services anew of top scorer Arvin Tolentino (hip flexor injury).
William Navarro took the scoring cudgels for the Batang Pier with 19 points, Sidney Onwubere with 17, and newly-acquired Avan Nava played his best game in a Northport uniform with 14 points on 4-of-5 field goal from three-point land.
Jio Jalalon was also in double figures with 11 points and nine assists.
