NOT even the torrential rains could stop the barangay from celebrating as about 1,500 fans trooped to Metrotent Convention Center in Pasig to celebrate Ginebra's triumph in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup.
Fans from all walks of life, some even coming from the provinces, braved the storm and stood in line as early as 6 a.m. just to see the Gin Kings in the flesh.
And for coach Tim Cone, he's just humbled to see the turnout for the fans' day.
"I'm so happy you all came. The rain has been so hard and I'm so surprised you all came here," he said as he addressed the crowd.
Overwhelmed with the love the fans have showered on the team, Cone gave a toast to the squad's sixth man, saying that if not for them, this achievement wouldn't have been possible.
"I just want to say I'm so proud to be the coach of Ginebra. I wish all the coaches of the world could be the coach of Ginebra so that they can experience how happy I am," he said.
Cone hopes that this would not be the Gin Kings' last, vowing to give the same fight as the team tries to make it a three-peat in the season-ending 2018 PBA Governors' Cup.
"We'll work very hard to get another one for you guys," said the league's winningest coach.
